Check Out and Open a Document
General
In Flow, a document must be reserved when you want to edit it.
At the same time, reservation prevents other users from editing the same document or its metadata simultaneously.
When you reserve (Check out) documents, Flow copies the attached file from the server to your workstation and opens it with the appropriate application based on the file extension.
In the user interface of Vertex G4 Cad software, you can reserve the item and its associated model or drawing without opening Flow.

Check Out and Open a Document
(1) Find the document to be edited.
See: Object search functions.
(2) Select the document.
(3) Choose the action Document > Check out and Open.
(4) Proceed with handling the attached file in the application and save it using the application.
Check In or uncheck the Document
Restore (check In) edited document
When you check in the attached file associated with a document, Flow copies it from your workstation to the server either overwriting the old file or creating a new revision according to your choice.
See: Check In document.
See: Revision.
Release (uncheck) document
If you have reserved (check out) a document for editing but decide to undo the changes you made, you can release (undone) the document to the server without modifications.
See: Uncheck document.
Check Out and Check In models, drawings and items on Vertex G4
Vertex G4 is a design system used to create models and drawings.
When combined with Vertex Flow, Vertex G4 operates on what is called a "item-centric" basis, meaning it handles items and their associated models and drawings.
