Handling objects
What is an object?
The term 'object' is used here to generally describe all things used in product information management systems. An object is thus a generic term for things visible on the Archive tab on the left side of Flow's interface.
Use objects to store data in Flow.
Object types differ in their purpose and attribute data, as well as whether a file is associated with the object or not.
You can create links between objects and attach files to objects.
Object types
See general introduction to objects: Flow's objects and tools
Links to instructions for each object type have been gathered in the instructions.
Objects can be found on the Archive tab.
Handling objects
The handling of different objects (establishment, reservation, opening, etc.) largely occurs with similar functions.
Therefore, their handling is compiled into the same instructions.
See the instructions below this one. Objects are grouped using classifications. A classification also serves as a search criterion.
A significant distinguishing factor in the handling of different objects is whether a file is associated with the object or not. Object types usually associated with files are grouped under Documents in the Archive tab.
Another significant distinguishing factor is whether an object can form a tree-like structure, such as a hierarchical object can.
Editing an object may mean editing only metadata or also editing a file associated with the object if a file is stored for the object.
