During design work, Vertex G4 may sometimes crash for various reasons, and it can be difficult for support services to investigate the cause without having a video recording of the crash situation.
Vertex G4’s video recording tool has a very useful feature for such situations, called the "time window". In practice, the time window allows the user to define how long a video the program will save from before the crash occurs.
When the user works normally in the program and a crash happens at some point, the program will save the amount of time specified in the time window from before the crash.
The user can then attach this video to a support request.
Adjusting the time window
-
Open the File dropdown menu in Vertex G4 and select Export → Export to Video.
-
In the video recording window, choose the setting Video duration, then select Time window.
-
In the Keep last field, select a suitable duration for the video length.
-
In the Video file name field, define the file name and location for the video.
