Turn 2D auto-constraints on or off.
When 2D auto-constraints are enabled, certain geometric constraints are automatically created when adding lines. You can disable 2D auto-constraints when the drawing window is active. In that case, no constraints will be added to the drawing automatically during line drawing operations.
You can toggle the 2D auto-constraints setting on or off as follows:
Select Settings > Drawings, Models
Open the Usage tab
Check or uncheck 2D Auto-Constraints
Confirm with the OK button
The setting will remain the same even after restarting the software.
When the setting is enabled, the following constraints are created automatically:
If you add a line parallel to another line using the E key or the parallel ruler, a parallel constraint is automatically created.
If you add a line perpendicular to another line using the T key, a perpendicular constraint is automatically created.
When adding a line using the tangent ruler with point-arc or arc-arc settings, a tangent constraint is automatically created.
With the parallel ruler (distance), a distance constraint is created.
Note:
This setting is available only when the 2D constraint solver is enabled.
The setting does not affect geometric constraints used to link parts of a parametric building model (such as walls, windows, doors, roofs, etc.).
Elements that already contain geometric constraints will retain them even if the 2D auto-constraints setting is turned off during the design process. However, new elements added afterwards will not automatically receive constraints.
You can remove an automatically added constraint from a line by selecting the line and choosing Properties from the context-sensitive menu.
