Display a new field in the Vertex G4 browser window when using G4 - Flow

Problem

A new field has been added to the item card, or an existing field needs to be displayed in the G4 browser window.

Solution

Retrieve the file browserdef.xml from the system side of the vxg4_srv directory
(...\system\setup\browserdef.xml). Copy the file to the corresponding directory on the custom side.
If the setup directory does not exist, create it.

In this example, a new field C_DESCR3 has been created for the item. Instructions for creating a new field can be found in the http://kb.vertex.fi guide.

Edit the file custom\setup\browserdef.xml (copy the line above or below and change the line’s values as desired).

  • Save the file

  • Restart G4

  • Test
