Projection Updates Freeze the Program

Problem

The drawing update or the update of a single projection freezes at a certain component in the assembly.

Solution

The most likely cause is that the assembly contains one or more parts with invalid geometry. In such cases, the first thing to check is the validity of the Acis geometries of the parts. For the entire assembly, this can be done with the function Export Model Data to File.

In the generated file, you can find invalid Acis parts by searching for the word Acis. Then, open the problematic parts in the assembly and heal them (right-click in part model → Acis Geometry → Heal).

The Export Model Data to File function can be found by right-clicking the top row (assembly name) in the assembly tree:

If healing is not successful or not feasible (e.g., with a large model), set the part’s properties to Do not cut in assembly drawing and, in the item data, enable Mass measured (and enter the mass manually).
