Parts Listing Issues

Problem

The parts list does not update to match the product structure, or not all desired parts appear in the list. The drawing has been refreshed using the F5 key and the Ctrl+U command.

Solution

Problems with collecting the parts list can result from many causes. Below is a checklist that is good to go through if you encounter issues with parts lists. If none of these points help, contact Vertex Support.

If a part is missing information or does not appear in the list:

  • Ensure that all required data is entered for the part’s item code.

  • In the part properties, make sure the "Include in assembly parts list" option is selected.

If the parts list does not update when pressing F5:

  • First, try adding the parts list to the drawing again: right-click → Parts List → Add Parts List to Drawing. If the parts list is generated correctly this way, the issue may be related to keyword settings. In that case, contact Vertex Support for more detailed instructions.

  • The form’s hidden codes differ depending on whether Flow is in use or not. Make sure the form matches your use case.

If Flow is used with G4 and the structures in Flow and G4 conflict with each other, you may find the solution in the comparison table. You can open the comparison table for items opened in G4 by going to the Product Structure tab, right-clicking the top-level item code, and selecting "Compare".
