G4 Maintenance Update Stops / Fails to Complete

This guide will help you resolve the issue where the G4 maintenance update stops with the error message:

“Could not extract the current file. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.”

1. Stop the VERTEX RemoNT Server service.

2. Check with a tool such as Process Explorer to ensure that there are no VERTEX64.exe process allocations remaining in the environment being updated.

3. Run the maintenance update.

4. Restart the VERTEX RemoNT Server service.

Below is an example image from Process Explorer when remont.exe is running and holding the VERTEX64.exe process.
When you stop remont.exe, make sure that VERTEX64.exe disappears (note: remont.exe should be stopped using the Services tool, not via Process Explorer).
