Dictionary
Purpose of use
A dictionary is a list of words or descriptions (and their translations) from which selections are made to the metadata of an object - typically an item. Using a dictionary helps minimize the number of spelling errors. When conducting searches, the variety of synonyms would complicate the generation of the search result list. With the help of the dictionary, language translations of descriptions can be better controlled. If necessary, an entirely new language can be introduced, and with the help of the dictionary, translations into the new language can be automatically updated on the item card.
There are three separate dictionaries available:
The default dictionary is intended for entering data into the description field of metadata.
The spare parts description dictionary contains purposely less accurate descriptions than the default description dictionary.
The sales dictionary includes item sales descriptions, which can be utilized in Flow's quotation catalog (as a result of using binder tool function).
