Add Hot-roll Notched Connections

This article will show you how to add in a notched connection between two beams.



This article uses a pre-added Hot-rolled column and beam structure.


  1. Go to the Modelling tab

  2. Click into the Joints image2016-5-9 14:29:15.png menu.

  3. Choose the Connection Details image2016-5-9 14:31:29.png command.

  4. Go into the Hot Rolled folder, then into the Face Plates sub folder.

  5. Double-click the (0600) UB Beam to UB Beam (Notched) option.

  6. Now select the destination bean you wish to add the connection to.

  7. Now choose the connecting beam ends you wish to connect, a yellow ball will show which ones will connect.  Then Confirm.

  8. The connection properties window will automatically open.

  9. Define the needed parameters and click OK.

  10. The connection will be added.
