Selection
Purpose of use
Selection is a fundamental concept in configuration. It represents the sales and customer perspective on product features, such as a car's transmission (either automatic or manual).
The selection object is associated with the configurator, which is a separate licensing option in Flow.
Therefore, the transmission is not a one-size-fits-all concept; it requires clarification (= what kind of transmission).
You can think of selections as "sales items," i.e., terms used for discussions between sales and customers.
License requirement
The object type is not visible to the basic user of Flow.
The handling of selection objects requires that:
The user's license type is Product Administrator, and
The user belongs to the group Product Management Tools (or another group that has access to Configurator Admin).
