Purpose of use
The purpose of a product instance is to describe the delivered product and its structure as it was at the time of delivery.
Variants of the product, or product instances, can be created.
A product instance is a specific adaptation of a product to be delivered to a customer.
The product instance is used to manage and track post-design changes in the product structure and related documentation.

This guide is related to the configurator's guide Product Configuration.
Create a product instance through the product (Product > Create Product Instance), so the link to the product is automatically generated. The freezing of the structure via the product instance is based on the specific product structure linked to the product card at a given moment. The product must have a main item of the product structure linked to it.
You can define the following information on the product instance card specific to the customer, delivery, and the product instance to be delivered, such as:
The serial number that identifies the delivered product.
Customer information.
Delivery-related details such as delivery method, delivery terms, delivery time, payment terms.
Reseller/representative.
In the Comments section of the product instance card, you can save information about maintenance actions, for example.
