Item

Purpose of use

The item is an abstract concept in itself. It serves as a placeholder for a part or assembly that is being designed or will be designed in the future. An item is usually associated with a 3D model and a drawing, but in some cases, a graphical representation is not required. These include items for which creating a 3D model would be practically impossible or irrelevant, such as oils, sealing adhesives, etc. Items and the item structures formed from them constitute the foundation of the entire design, to which graphical objects and documents are attached. Parts lists are obtained by listing item structures. The item number or identifier is always unambiguous and almost always the same as in the ERP system.

Functions

General functions

Tools

The primary difference in the functions of the Tools menu for an item compared to other objects is the "Where Used" function, which can be used to search the item structure upwards.
