File conversion queues

Purpose of use

When the user uploads a model or drawing to Flow, a background translator is initiated. This translator opens the model or drawing, converts the file into an alternative format (PDF, DWG, STEP, etc.), and saves the alternative file format to the object's card in Flow. The initiation of translations depends on the Flow license acquired by the company. The file conversion queue displays the status and progress of these background translations. Through this dialog, the user can monitor the progress of the translations.

Instructions related to File conversion queue

This dialog displays models and drawings set by the user in the translation queue in list format. The dialog presents the identifier and description of the object currently being translated in the "Active" section. The "Process state" shows the state of the translation process (pictured as "BUSY," indicating that the translation is currently in progress). Other selections show the quantity as follows: "On queue" for queued items, "Completed" for finished ones, "Failed" for unsuccessful ones, and "Cancelled" for those canceled by the user. "Restart" initiates the entire translation process for queued items. This can be useful especially when the translation process has entered the "ERROR" state. "Remove" sets the displayed quantity to zero. "Retry" (for failed items) places the object back into the translation queue. "Continue working" returns the user from this dialog to the home page. If the user belongs to the sysadmin group, there is an option "File conversion queue" at the bottom left of the dialog, which takes the user to the Admin Portal translation queue interface.
