Reading a DWG file failed

Problem

I am trying to read a DWG file as a reference drawing. However, it is not loaded into the drawing. If I open the DWG file in Vertex using drag and drop, I get the error message:

Reading of file '[tiedostonimi ja polku]' failed!

Solution

Try the recovery feature when reading a DWG file. The recovery feature is enabled when the DWG setup file contains the keyword

use_recovery= 1

Add the keyword or change its value in the DWG setup file you are using. You can edit the setup files in the custom/setup/DWG folder. If you are using the default setup file system/setup/DWG/Default_r to read a DWG file, first copy it to that folder and open it for editing in, for example, Notepad++. The default value of the keyword is 0.
