In sketch mode, you can effortlessly create groups to streamline your design process. Sketch groups are simple to copy, and you can establish links between their geometries. This means that when you modify one group, all linked groups automatically update to match.

Additionally, sketch groups can be positioned as a single block, making placement straightforward and saving valuable time during the design phase.

How to Create a Sketch Group

1. Sketch the Shape: Begin by drawing the shape or geometry you plan to reuse in your design.

2. Form a Sketch Group: Select the lines or elements of the shape and use the Create Group tool to combine them into a sketch group.

3. View in Sketch Tree: The newly created sketch group will appear in the sketch tree for easy management.

4. Assign a Name: Rename the sketch group to something descriptive, ensuring you can quickly locate and reuse it later.

By grouping and naming your sketches, you can streamline your design process and easily find and apply the groups in future projects.

Features of Sketch Groups

1. Adding and Removing Elements: You can add or remove elements from a sketch group at any time, allowing flexibility in design modifications.

2. Dimensional Adjustments: Sketch groups support dimension changes, with linked groups automatically updating to reflect changes made to the original group.

3. Block Definition: A sketch group can be defined as a block, making its contents immutable and treating it as a fixed element within the design. When geometry is imported from a 2D drawing into a sketch, it is automatically converted into a block-type sketch group. This setting can be adjusted in the group properties.

4. Creating Linked Sketch Groups: Linked groups can be created either from the context menu in the sketch tree (right-click) or by copying and pasting an existing sketch group.

5. Sketch Library Integration: Sketches imported from the sketch library automatically form sketch groups, simplifying their reuse across designs.
