Create a new revision of a Vertex ED drawing
General
The Vertex ED drawing depicts electrical diagrams, and the drawing may consist of multiple sheets.
The drawing typically progresses in the workflow to the APPROVED state, at which point manufacturing begins and eventually parts are delivered to the customer.
No changes can be made to the drawing after this, as it serves as a document of the situation at the time of customer delivery.
However, the drawing can be saved as a new revision.
The old revision is preserved and continues to represent the situation at the time of customer delivery.
When to Revise
Changes in the workflow do not necessarily require revision.
Revision is always the user's choice, but the workflow may also compel the user to make a new revision.
Generally, an approved drawing cannot be returned with the same revision.
Publish the drawing (document) to Flow
Revision is done in ED with its own functions. Drawings are published to Flow with the revision of ED. Publishing is done with the function Archive -> Export documents and structures to Flow.
Depending on the document's status and Flow's status model, publishing can be done with the existing revision or as a new revision.
(1) Select the drawing to be published from the Export documents and structures to Flow dialog.
(2) From the right-click menu, the following options are available:
Export to Flow as a new revision
Export to Flow replacing the current revision
Only the option that is possible based on the ED revision, Flow revision, Flow status, and Flow status model can be selected. Normally, for example, a drawing in the APPROVED state cannot be published with the same revision.
Publish structure to Flow Structures work the same way as drawings regarding revision.
Publish multiple selections Multiple drawings or structures can be published at once by selecting multiple rows. Only actions possible for all selected items are available.
