Getting Started with Vertex Sync
Using Sync makes it possible to create a shared design archive, facilitating teamwork with other designers and sharing documentation with other stakeholders. It also enables sharing the design environment via cloud service with all designers. Sync complements CAD by providing the essential tools needed for everyday work.
First, acquire a Sync license. You can purchase it from the MyVertex service.
How to Connect Vertex BD to Sync
Connecting Vertex BD to Sync is very simple. Follow the instructions in the following video:

If you want to change the settings later, you can access the same dialog via File > Preferences > User Default Settings. Select the Sync tab. You can find more information about the settings here: User Sync Settings.
Good to Know
Vertex BD Installation
When using Sync, the most common standalone installation is used. Buildings and environments are in Sync. All users, both on the internal network and working remotely, have access to the same source of information. Therefore, no special installations are needed or allowed. Use the Vertex installation program for a single local instance. This ensures everything works as it should. Future updates, both for the software and the customer-specific environment, will proceed smoothly.
Preparatory Actions
Move Template Buildings to Sync
It is recommended to transfer template buildings to Sync to ensure the best viewing experience. Once a template building is transferred to Sync, all files belonging to it get a template label. When you start a new building based on the template and save it, the template label is removed from all files that have been processed during the design. Only these files are displayed in Sync. This prevents, for example, unnecessary empty drawing sheets from being displayed in Sync.
Instructions for transferring template buildings to Sync can be found here: Template Buildings. The same Move buildings to Sync function can also be used for other buildings to upload them to Sync.
Upload a Customer-specific Environment to Vertex Sync
Sync integration makes it easy to share the design environment with all designers. The admin user can very simply upload the customer-specific program environment to Sync. Updating is also easy. Only the changed files are transferred between the local installation and the cloud service. Vertex BD users select the environment from Sync once. Users are notified when a newer revision of the environment is available and can download and apply it from the service. Read more here: Customer-specific Environment.
