Imported model as a shell model

It is now possible to quickly simplify and repair the geometry of imported parts.

When you have imported a part with faulty ACIS geometry into the model and want to remove the red warning in the assembly tree, you can simplify the part by converting it into a shell model. This significantly reduces its complexity. The function is suitable for parts whose geometry will no longer be modified.

Simplifying an imported part

Select the imported part you want to simplify, or alternatively the entire assembly. From the right-click menu, choose the “Convert Imported to Lightweight” function, which removes the ACIS geometry from the model and thus eliminates any ACIS errors, if present.

You can still position the part, but it can no longer be edited. This part will also not be sectioned in the drawing.
